For telling some -dimwit-- fellow poster that pregnancy tests are not reliable indicator of pregnancy 4 days after you wee on them and that the reason its yellow is because it's full of dried piss..

Also that the only way to describe a 'metalic' taste in your mouth is to say its tastes unsurprisingly of metal.

Banned from a mothering message board.. i am semi embarassed !

Oblomov · 02/05/2008 08:04

I agree with Rhubarb.
This whole thread, doesn't paint a very good picture of Mumsneters. Come on ladies, we are better than this.

By the way, re the acronyms - AF and BD - both of which I really dislike, because they are so twee. Not reflective of mumsnet at all. HAs anyone actually asked if they can be changed - to something more appropriate ?

EmilySS · 02/05/2008 10:53

Dear All

I've just created a login for this site as I felt I needed to let you know something.

I really don't want to get involved in a fight with anyone and this post is not meant to be directed at anyone specific.

The lady that originally posted the controversial thread on Bounty has posted a message this morning apologising for her actions and telling us she is leaving the forum as she is so upset by what has happened. I am frankly disgusted that anyone has been made to feel like this. She has been through a lot over the past year and used the forum as a means of support. This has now been taken away from her through the inconsiderate actions of others.

I've been TTC for a few months and must say that I still find the whole AF and BD stuff a bit strange (downright weird at first) but have fallen into using it because everyone knows what you're talking about. It also annoys me that I get my swear words asterisked out. However, I've always found that the ladies on Bounty have been very supportive when I've been having the odd down day and really appreciate this.

I really hope that the people involved will think about what they've done (not meaning to sound like a mum or teacher) and refrain from this sort of behaviour in the future.

Thanks for listening

Emily

appauling (sic)

TinkerbellesMum · 02/05/2008 14:22

Do you know what's really annoyed me?

The OP was WorzselMummage sounding off about being kicked off of another forum and what she said. I think I'd have probably said something similar and I read it as tongue in cheek more than her being nasty to the poster on the other site.

People on here added comments about being kicked off of other sites and why they like MN so much, I don't remember anyone saying much about the Bounty poster.

It was only when some nice, considerate person went over there and told them that there was a thread here that it got nasty. I think the nastiest comments have been posted at Bounty!

Let's get something straight. This site may not be fluffy and people may swear - after all we're all adults and when you see f**k ya know what it means! We may not hide our periods behind some random relative or pretend we don't really have sex, we "baby dance". But this site IS supportive! I find it far more supportive than the sites where arguing is banned, where threads get locked or deleted because they get too heated. Just because people aren't scared to express their opinion doesn't mean they're not supportive.

It's like a relationship, you know the couples who say "we've been together 20 years and never had a row"? You just know that the first time they row they will split up because they don't know how to handle it.

very amusing, seems like a lot of blather about not a lot. must admit to using the term af when ttc and not using correct punctuation when posting
