QR code not scanning on Vinted purchase/item of clothing

I purchased a North Face puffer jacket on Vinted. I've just been doing some authenticity checks, and comparing it against my daughter's genuine jacket (bought from TNF shop). It's looking good in all aspects and is identical to my daughter's: the stitching, the zips, holographic label ... the lot.
The only thing is that the QR code will not scan. My camera picks it up straightaway on my daughter's. My purchase is probably a couple of years older than my daughter's though. I'm not very technically minded. Is there such a thing as an older style QR code? I'll post a pic. As I said though, the jacket is amazing quality and identical in all other areas to the real deal.

That qr code looks odd to me, is it def a qr code?

The jacket is around 4 years old, if that's relevant.

Why would a jacket need a QR code? Is the coat for you to keep?

I'm trying to ascertain if it's genuine North Face. There's always a risk when buying these things secondhand. A QR code will take you to the company website, so it's more likely to be genuine.
The jacket was bought as a present for someone. It's in fantastic condition but I couldn't afford it brand new.
