Special Christmas Day breakfast for kids

Usually they have cereals and/or toast with a piece of fruit. I want to do them something quick and easy but a bit special for Christmas Day breakfast. Dh and I usually have smoked salmon bagels but they don't like this.

Don't care if it's sugary or crap, it's Christmas! One is 13 the other is a preschooler so ideally something to suit both. Don't fancy frying bacon and cooking much but other suggestions welcome!

We have French toast, bacon and maple syrup.

Nutella pastry Christmas tree

Boltonb · 20/12/2024 00:41

We do toaster waffles with syrup, cream and strawberries. Often selection boxes/satsumas first as they’re in the stockings, but then downstairs for breakfast

MummyJ12 · 20/12/2024 00:41

Mine are having star shaped waffles from M&S, buttermilk pancakes, Nutella, syrup and berries. There’ll be croissants on the table too if they have room!

Silverbirchtable · 20/12/2024 00:43

We get jus rol pain au chocolate and cinnamon whirls. They like putting them together and baking them, it feels like a big treat after opening stockings etc.

We always have Santa pancakes (well the kids do). So easy to make. Similar to the ones pictured.

Puff pastry cinnamon rolls ( just ready made puff pastry with butter, sugar and cinnamon- mashed banana if you want to pretend to be healthy) - my three year old loves makibg them

or proper cinnamon rolls if you have the times

gabsdot45 · 20/12/2024 03:14

We have cocopops for breakfast on Christmas day. We never usually have them so it's a novelty

steff13 · 20/12/2024 03:57

We make monkey bread. Except the first year that I made it my son thought I said monkey balls, so now we call it monkey balls.

We do cinnamon rolls that I make the night before so in the morning, they just need to bake. They aren’t hard to bake if you’re a baker but maybe daunting if you’re not?

SnappyCroc · 20/12/2024 04:48

@TrixieFatell . Mine have Santa pancakes too though not quite so pro 😂.

Auburngal · 20/12/2024 06:35

Get some Schlor white grape and some orange juice. Then they have alcohol free Bucks Fizz.

Timetoread · 20/12/2024 06:37

Panetone

MidnightPatrol · 20/12/2024 06:38

Reindeer pancakes also an option!

Pancakes - either homemade or shop ones. Set up a little topping station with sprinkles and cream and stuff.

We do this - little bowls of fruit, sprinkles, marshmallows etc and call it “Elf Breakfast”

YessicaHaircut · 20/12/2024 06:48

DS absolutely loves panettone so we’ll be having that. Also love the idea of pancakes with toppings and Christmas shaped waffles or crumpets.

Waffle19 · 20/12/2024 07:02

We do shop bought pastries

PrincessHoneysuckle · 20/12/2024 07:11

I'm doing ds ham.and cheese.filled croissant

Rainingandlookslikeitwillneverstop · 20/12/2024 07:34

Mine used to have hairibo, smarties and choc coins !!!!

Too busy munching their way through their stocking junk to eat a proper breakfast!

toast / cereal / bacon sandwich all on offer but they preferred their stockings !

ToffeePennie · 20/12/2024 07:39

We have sausage and bacon butties and trifle left over from Christmas dinner.

Katemax82 · 20/12/2024 07:40

I always do frozen pastries freshly baked

SilverBlueRabbit · 20/12/2024 07:41

I do french toast often. I put a fair whack of vanilla in the batter, add ground almonds (because one of mine needs building up) and some chocolate powder and cinnamon. Then serve with berries or nutella.
