Does tinsel belong on Christmas trees?

I say No

DH says yes. The tackier the better and keeps putting it on

Ignore the mess we've just moved house

I've never put tinsel on mine but each to their own.

I had lametta once, and the Christmas season was spent pulling strands of it out of the cat's bum, so never again.
