To ask how to transform a secondhand Xmas gift

I have bought my daughter a secondhand rocking horse (stuffed, not wooden) for Xmas. I’ve got new tack to put on it and will put ribbons and rosettes to spruce it up a bit, but how do I reinvigorate its fur? How do you spruce up an old teddy’s fur?

On the Repair Shop they use soap bubbles, rather than a load of water. Perhaps watch a teddy episode of that for tips?

You could try going over it with a steamer.

Sorry, I wouldn't use a steamer on faux fur. Just from experience of faux fur blankets, heat makes faux fur turn matted and flat. Almost like they're made of a plastic strand that 'melts' and binds together instead of staying fluffy. No disrespect to the pp who suggested it, just wanted to advise it might ruin the fur. (I only wash them on a cold wash and that seems to keep the fluff, fluffy!)

Cheap tangle tease style brush you could try Dr Beckman's carpet cleaner (very carefully as not to over wet it)
