Which would you choose?

Came back from work and both these plates in the fridge, not much else as need to do the food shop.
i went immediately for the fish fingers and mash, Dh thought I was weird

Which would you pick? (You can’t have both!)

If pick same as you. I much prefer savoury food.

ThatAgileGoldMoose · 17/12/2024 23:15

Yeah I'd have gone for them. Although I'm not sure why you couldn't follow it up with brownie for dessert!

murasaki · 17/12/2024 23:15

I prefer fishfingers in a sandwich, but I'd still take them and mash over brownies.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 17/12/2024 23:15

Same as you! I wouldn’t go for sweet as a meal or when I’m hungry. You want savoury when you’re hungry.

A brownie for pudding maybe but only once I’d has some savoury food.

Eating something sweet on an empty stomach would make me feel quite sick.

AllTangledUpInTinselAndTiaras · 17/12/2024 23:16

It totally depends on the day/my mood/what I've already eaten, but today I'm definitely with you!

nocoolnamesleft · 17/12/2024 23:17

Are these yummy squidgy brownies?

AngelontopoftheTree · 17/12/2024 23:18

I'm totally with you and the FF 😋

FuckItItsFine · 17/12/2024 23:18

If it was freshly cooked, I’d take the FF and M. But if we’re reheating it, I’ll take the brownies.

Candleburnsquickly · 17/12/2024 23:27

@FuckItItsFine I ate them straight from the fridge, quite like them later on, a bit cold and stodgy 😅

I am sooooooo in the mood for fish and chips today; this thread has only exacerbated my suffering. 😭😭

Hollyhollyberry · 17/12/2024 23:34

I hate most puddings other than a brownie so brownie gets my vote! If it was apple pie / sponge with custard I wouldn’t touch it

GiddyRobin · 17/12/2024 23:45

Definitely the fishfingers! Love them with mash or on a butty. And I'm also a fan of them cold! I do that quite often. 😂 Skip dinner then eat it cold from the fridge! If it's fresh I need piping hot, later on I want to feel naughty like I'm sneaking from the pantry! 🤣

DoYouReally · 17/12/2024 23:45

Fishfinger & mash.
Always savory for me.

Always a starter, rarely a dessert.

You are me in a restaurant. If I'm fitting in two courses, pudding isn't one of them.

Mipil · 18/12/2024 00:39

Wait… cold fish fingers and mash straight from the fridge?!! Yep, you’re weird 😂 I would rather go hungry. 100% brownies in that case.

TBH, I don’t really like fish fingers or mash so it would be a hard choice for me even if they were freshly cooked but I am firmly in the savoury camp normally.

StrongFemaleCharacter · 18/12/2024 00:45

Fish fingers and mash - can I add baked beans into the mix?

Floralnomad · 18/12/2024 01:15

I’d possibly eat the fish fingers , not with mash though . Don’t like brownies at all

VimesandhisCardboardBoots · 18/12/2024 01:29

I'd always go for savoury over sweet, but fish fingers do nothing for me. Replace that with a bowl of chilli and now you're talking!

Caerulea · 18/12/2024 01:43

Fish fingers fwiw every time & without exception. I'm a fool for fish fingers, it's ridiculous.

However, I'd like to know why brownies are in the fridge, if you please. I'm mildly offended by this.

coxesorangepippin · 18/12/2024 01:49

ff and mash

Nom

ThisIsSockward · 18/12/2024 02:34

Sweet foods aren't as satisfying to me when I'm hungry. I can't eat as much of them, and even if I could, it wouldn't feel like a meal.

Caswallonthefox · 18/12/2024 02:37

Fish fingers and mash, with peas

mondaytosunday · 18/12/2024 02:38

I have a real sweet tooth but I'd go for the fish and mash - more nutrition (such as it is) and less sugar.
