c-ptsd around xmas/parents divorce

I've just had my weekly therapy session and my therapist suggested I look up c-ptsd. This is because almost every christmas since I've had children (so 14yrs) I've had a severe episode of anxiety, last year being the worst. I've been getting gradually better this year, but now with xmas here again, I'm struggling.
I've always found xmas hard, my parents divorced when I was 7 and I remember feeling really sad, and found it quite dark as a child. As a teen/young adult I just used to get really drunk and see my mates.
This year, I'm scared of going back downhill, but I think it's more than just last year, so think my therapist might be onto something?
Can anyone relate? x

I'm not going to diagnose you obviously but are you sure the therapist said CPTSD? It's usually associated with severe and repeated trauma.

Hi there, I believe your therapist might be onto something. I had a bad Christmas 25 years ago. I have onle done the bare miminum for Christmas ever since and we have children.

She did, and it got me thinking… a lot has happened at xmas, including having PND around that time and once having to be rushed to hospital. It’s also the time of year that I’ve had breakdowns so there is a lot going on…
