To expect a voucher of goodwill to be offered?

Mary Grinchmas was already taken 😂

Amazon - ordered a nintendo switch game ‘complete edition’ which was £25 more expensive than the standard edition version. I received the standard edition.

Easy mistake i suppose as the covers are exactly alike except the one i wanted had a small ‘complete edition’ logo under the title. I went on the Amazon chat and then had to upload photos and await their decision. I explained that i wanted to swap it for the correct version. They said not possible. I’d need to return the incorrect one which would be refunded once they’d received it (up to two weeks) and i’d need to reorder the one i wanted separately. I asked how could i be sure the same issue wouldn’t happen again. They explained if it did, then i’d repeat this return process. So i’ve just driven a 50 minute round trip to my nearest Evri parcel shop to return the thing. Out of pocket, no game, and uncertainty whether the issue will happen again if i reorder.

Debenhams - ordered a perfume spray for my niece. It arrived broken with the nozzle snapped off. Totally unusable. Sent a photo to the Debenhams whatsapp account Friday night. Have been getting a few messages since asking for more photos.

How many different angles can i send of a snapped nozzle? Now they’ve got back to me asking for a video to show it is not working. What?? Again, i was hoping for a quick and easy swap. This is taking a lot more time than I thought to sort.

If you were me, would you be expecting either retailer to offer something due to the inconvenience caused?

No, just a replacement. Amazon will come and collect your returns, you don't need to take them anywhere.

CactusUmbrella · 15/12/2024 18:49

Honestly no - it's not really their fault you live ages from the nearest Evri and no one is denying you your refund.

People are so OTT about compensation for "inconvenience" these days imo

I had a bottle of booze delivered by Amazon that arrived late, they gave me a full refund for the bottle plus a 5 quid voucher. A few weeks ago.

Watching with interest. Ordered a pair of ankle socks from Amazon, the page specifically said ankle socks. Shorter trainer socks arrive ask for a replacement and another pair of trainer socks arrives
