Assertive, independent and alone

How’s that working for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I read threads where women feel they have to accept an inadequate relationship rather than be alone.

I am assertive, independent and alone, and omg it’s hard.

AIBU to think this isn’t ideal either?

Posting for balance. Toxic relationships aside, I wonder whether it is better to compromise than to be alone.

Would love to hear your pov. Getting stock in a rut is part of the isolation. My thinking is fixated.

Of course you need to compromise in any relationship, it can’t all be one person’s way all of the time, or else somehow you’re mystically always on the same page. The problem is when you compromise on things of core value, your integrity, your self worth, who you are as an individual, and so on.

It IS hard to be alone in some ways OP so I feel ya!!

However the good thing is that when people are alone they can build their self confidence so that their next relationship is much better

Yes this. I realised in the past I compromised far too much

Thank you. This is exactly the kind of balance I am seeking.

Alone means :
Preparing for the next friendship/ relationship.

Prioritising integrity and sense of self. Agree, friendship/relationship does require compromise but not capitulation.

Keep’em coming
