To think a Y7 Secret Santa with a minimum spend of £10 is wrong?

Form tutor announced Secret Santa and asked if they wanted a minimum spend of £5, £10 or £15. They chose £10.

I queried it by email and she’s not changing it.

it’s a comp, btw, not a private school.

I hate getting presents I don’t want but regardless of that - how can she assume all parents have £10 to spare?

That’s mad, where I live lots of kids are going hungry, a tenner for a class present is so out of touch. Does the head know about this? I’d be having a word and suggesting a re-think is needed!
