To keep longing for a third baby?!

Why can't I stop thinking about it?! When will the feeling go away? Grin

I have 2 DC. Feeling very lucky and realistically for a number of reasons I want to stick at 2, financial reasons, don't want to pay big childcare bills again, don't really fancy pregnancy and birth again, don't do well with lack of sleep, the logistics of a family of 5 seem like a faff.

However, I just can't seem the shake the thought of oooo just go for jt!

Mother Nature can be a real bitch. She can come on really strong and pushy! Whispering in your ear "You can't fight the evolutionary urges!"

Well, you can, of course. We've moved on from our cave dwelling days.

I get it though - been there! And resisted!

Just imagine the smell of three teenagers

I want a third so i understand the feelings your having but after posting on here a few months back for advice I'm holding of a while and since iv made the decision to hold off the desperate feelings for a third have eased of a lot.

Teenagers require a lot these days - more than we did. Significant emotional practical and financial support is required from parents. Then there’s university fees. We say often thank god we stopped at 2 and ours are pretty easy. Couldn’t be doing this a third time.

I was relentlessly broody for number 3. It's the first time I've pushed for something that on paper was really not the best choice. He's here now and has fit perfectly into our family - I absolutely love the family dynamic with three. However the itch has not been scratched at all - every milestone he reaches makes me want another baby all over.

There's no way we could have a fourth. It would stretch us to the limit in every possible way and I'm too old now. But I totally understand how persuasive that feeling is.

I actually LOL'd at this 😆

I regularly drive 4 teenage boys home after footy practice - it is RIPE!

OP, I had five children, and the youngest two were twins, which rather stopped me in my tracks - my then husband was of the opinion that had we had ten children, I would have said, oh we could always have number eleven - and he was probably right. I still remember the dreadful pang that was finally getting rid of the pram, and I’m now a Grandma. The longing for another baby will eventually pass, but it does take time.
