Strong pain meds?

I was recently in hospital with chronic pain. I've been given tapentadol 150mg twice a day plus paracetamol and aspirin.

I was sent home with 28 days supply and no advice. My pain is manageable now and on some Googling I discovered I can't just stop the tablets. I rang my gp who has prescribed me 14 days of 50mg twice a day.

Further reading suggests the tapering off should be more gradual.

I was considering doing a few days of 150mg in the morning and 100mg at night (but don't know if I can take two together)
Then doing 150 and 50. Then 100 and 50 and so onto 50mg a day.

My gp is a two week wait for an appointment.

Anyone take tapentadol or similar or any health care professionals who can help?

How long have you been taking them? I've stopped after 10 days with no issues but I appreciate everyone is different, same with morphine and tramadol.

You need to seek medical advice. Ask for a callback from a practice pharmacist or speak to your own pharmacist.

Asking for advice on MN is ridiculous.

Two weeks, am I over thinking it? Was yours the same dose?

Can you speak to a pharmacist? They'd be best placed to help.
