Why is Mumsnet showing this ad

Why is Mumsnet showing an ad and information to help settle new pets in homes just before Christmas. Totally irresponsible.

There's been an influx in our rescue of farmed puppies who were meant for the Xmas market. These pups tend to go out on foster after their health checks etc. I'm picking up two of them next week.
Whilst getting a pet at Christmas is not ideal it happens. I wish it didn't because we also get an influx in Feb and March of dogs that need a lot of training because people don't realise how much work and money goes into a pet and they are not just instagram props.
If a post about settling new pets at Christmas makes even one person stop and think about the 15 year commitment they are about to make and decide if they are really ready and prepared then there would be one less confused and scared pet with poor house skills left with us in the new year.
