Constant aches and pains

Over the past few months I've noticed that every day I wake up with aches and pains. The top of my back, the bottom of my back, my neck, shoulders, worryingly across my chest.

I feel exhausted when I get up and it's effort to do anything for the first hour or so. But it does ease a bit as I get moving. I co sleep with my toddler and often end up in contorted positions which I suspect might be a big factor. Also suffer from anxiety which can make me tense without realising. Has anyone got any tips?

So you do any exercise?

So you do any exercise?

No and I eat an appalling diet. Just sat here feeling exhausted and shit and thinking I really need to treat my body a bit better because it feels like it's failing on me at the moment.

Go for a walk today and start the change.

Probably you are not getting a good, long, relaxed sleep in a comfortable position. I wake up with various aches and pains, but I am in my 60’s, but I walk 2/3 hours each day, which I know helps in more ways than one.

Time for new pillows?

I have anxiety and need to do deep breathing and relaxation exercises before bed otherwise I end up clenching my shoulders and face muscles. I know it's probably hard with the toddler but even just lowering your shoulders and releasing face muscles as you fall asleep will help.
Magnesium is a good supplement to look I to for anxiety and aches and pains.

I had this. An osteopath reset my whole back which has sorted my body out amazingly. They're very cost effective and usually one appointment does the trick. Worth a go

How's your Vit D3 level? Too low and that will lead to various aches and pains.

I live with a chronic pain condition, but I’ve learnt a lot how to manage it.

Exercise is a real key here - if you’re not moving regularly outside of the very forwards movement of day to day living, all your muscles become tight and painful. Doing anything that stretches you in different directions will help - yoga is a brilliant option.

Slso as above- try taking vitamin D regularly.

Eat well, exercise gently, take supplements, get your basic blood levels checked by your Dr to rule out the obvious things like anaemia, B12 deficiency, and thyroid problems. But really, even with all that you need to eat clean and move more to maximise any medications you get given.
