Body hair loss after baby

Not sure if this is something I should be worried about but 2 months postpartum and I've noticed there's no hair on my arms or armpits or legs, I only noticed when I went to shave there was nothing to shave and hasn't been for a while and now I've noticed I have smooth arms too.
Anyone else had this and is it cause for concern?
Hair on my head is still thick and still have eye lashes and brows.
Naturally brunette so it's quite obvious.

I had this, I'm not sure exactly how long it lasted but it wasn't too long. I think it's just hormones making everything go a bit strange for a while!

AmberBeaker · 08/12/2024 22:10

I wouldn't say I had no hair, but both times post partum I had much slower regrowth and much less growth overall. it was great I loved it as someone who's usually hairy and needs a daily shave! It came back to normal after about 9m when bfeeding was finished.

Did you keep the hair on your head? @NeverAndEver

Sorry mine was armpits and legs, I didn't notice anything on my arms as in I had normal level of hair there.

48wheaties · 08/12/2024 22:14

I lost my armpit hair after childbirth and 15 years later it never returned! I still have hair everywhere else ,so it's one less job to do 😄

wanttobuildasnowman · 08/12/2024 22:16

Well it's reassuring to know it's not just me and it's resolved for others.
I'm not worried about arm pits and legs but I'd be devastated if it spread to my head and face.
I've already noticed it's very smooth above my top lip.

My colleague had this, list quite a lot of head hair. He's just turned 2 and it's growing nicely. I took all my mum's xa,cium and she list her teeth.

I hope this happens for me 😂 very thick dark hair normally so it might be unlikely!

wanttobuildasnowman · 08/12/2024 22:17

My first thought was if this is the start of alopecia totallis.

I lost some hair on my head but I don't think any more than is usual after giving birth. My baby's 1 now and hair-wise I'm all back to normal.
But for a good couple of months at least I had nothing under my armpits and very little on my legs. It was strange but one less thing to do.

wanttobuildasnowman · 08/12/2024 22:27

I don't know if it's related but my baby was born with a full head of hair and lost it all a couple of weeks later.

If it's just the areas you'd shave anyway, I think this sounds great and I'm very jealous!

Nc546888 · 08/12/2024 22:44

Yeah I noticed it was slower growing for a bit. Came back in the end

Workingthroughit · 08/12/2024 22:47

Happened to both my mum and gran, and again with menopause.

wanttobuildasnowman · 08/12/2024 22:49

If it was just the hair I had shaved then I'd think maybe it's just slower growth but I've never shaved my forearms that's just fallen out.

Oh no, sounds like it could be hormonal then. I've not had it with previous pregnancy/births

Definitely is.

stripeyshutters · 08/12/2024 23:01

This happened with me - underarms and legs barely grew back.

ForkHandlesNotFourCandles · 08/12/2024 23:04

I had a receding hairline after giving birth both times.
Nothing else though.
It grew back eventually but was horrible to put up with,
