To wonder why nobody has wild lives on an anonymous forum?

Warning: overseas and have drank a few glasses of rose’

This is an anonymous forum, nobody knows who you are you can even name change…

Why do we rarely see truly shameful or wild
confessions on here ?

Its always threads something like, ‘I googled my ex boyfriend and fantasised over his executive lifestyle, is this considered cheating ?’

Or ‘my husband doesn’t contribute to bills and I have a credit card debt that I used for paying them. Am I a terrible human and wife ?’

‘I drink 2.5 glasses of wine a night and have 3
Children under 6 and a cheating husband that thinks it’s my problem to care for them. How will I beg him to forgive me for being a terrible wife and alcoholic’

Theres no posts that say ‘I hooked up with my wealthy neighbour who lives in an Edwardian pile and I have no regrets, should I ? ’

’my Husband and I went swinging and I liked it..’

’I’ve been cheating on my my husband with my Spanish neihjnour’

Is everyone on MN a saint ?

Sorry to say but since having kids I'm boring and I'm here on mumsnet casually drinking tea and often secretly guiltily enjoying some madness of other peoples lives.

Youth, however...

I posed for the Wall of Vagina, does that count?

Yes! Were you laying there leg spread while the sculptor got to work?

SmudgeButt · 06/12/2024 18:56

We'd be jealously thinking someone was boasting if they talked about their wild lifestyle.

mathanxiety · 06/12/2024 18:58

There have been too many successful hacks of MN data. Very few are so desperate for attention that they'd be willing to risk being outed.

Funnywonder · 06/12/2024 19:00

The take downs on here are particularly savage, anonymous forum or not. And there can be a sneering holier than thou attitude. Anyway, I have nothing wild to report because I did all that when the world was in sepia. I am now knackered and like to crochet in my fluffy slippers and Percy Pig hooded blanket. If anyone else wants to report anything wild, no judgement here - and it might be the only excitement I get😆

ohyesido · 06/12/2024 19:02

Because this site is frequented by some rather bitchy people and I expect many don't want a flaming

ohyesido · 06/12/2024 19:04

@MistressoftheDarkSide can we hear more about the ouija board please?

Unfortunately I may have misled you lol.

Nothing overly dramatic has happened beyond weird breezes and flickering candles. It doesn't stop me trying though as a sign from the beyond would be most welcome.

I have witnessed, along with others, poltergeist activity though. Was running a tarot class with a friend in my old shop, and a jewellery display full of crystal pendants hurled itself with some force off a shelf. We tried to debunk it but honestly couldn't.

Also had a decorative sword belonging to my late DP fall over in a really weird way at 6am by my bed where it was propped between the bed and my side table. It tipped forward and travelled about three feet from it's logical landing position. I couldn't replicate that either.

My hanging taxidermy crow pivots sometimes, despite there being no draughts.

I can't seem to invoke the weird though, it always takes me by surprise lol.

Autofilia · 06/12/2024 19:33

Because I don't have a Spanish neihjnour

Ggmores · 06/12/2024 19:34

When I had a wild life, I certainly wasn’t on mumsnet!!

AndThereSheGoes · 06/12/2024 19:36

EmeraldRoulette · 06/12/2024 17:50

I guess anyone living a wild life won't be on here.

This.

Why do you need to tell strangers your worries if your life is wild enough not to worry.

LigamentBandy · 06/12/2024 19:41

I once read a wild thread about sending your boss rude messages that was "wild" 🥱

BogRollBOGOF · 06/12/2024 20:07

I did my wild living when dial up was too slow and noisy for mass sharing, before you could even poke someone on facebook.
It was well timed Grin

MN was more lively before 2015

stargazerlil · 06/12/2024 20:07

People who are doing wild things don’t care about other peoples opinions, do not live in shame of what they are up to and are too busy living a wild life to be on here.

arcticpandas · 06/12/2024 20:10

Wouldn't have the time to be on MN with that exciting life🤷‍♀️. I've had a delicious meal and I long to read Hello Beautiful which I will do when dc is in bed.

CatDays · 06/12/2024 17:52

No one wants the pile on.

This.
People who confess to being human get a right booting on here.

BruhWhy · 06/12/2024 20:14

You know, I have to confess, when me and my friend, sort of, used to run through the fields of wheat, the farmers weren't too pleased about that.

Nikitaspearlearring · 06/12/2024 20:19

spanieleyes · 06/12/2024 18:12

I've just had fish fingers and chips for tea.
That's about as lurid as my life gets!

Did you have mushy peas? I've seen them be very divisive on here. My confession is that I'm from the South and I like mushy peas (runs for cover!).

Ha!!

RitaFromThePitCanteen · 06/12/2024 20:32

Because life's a slog and the little inconsequential things pile up and take up most of our spare time. I don't have the time for drama and I know very few people who do. I wouldn't mind a more exciting life but I have neither the funds nor the energy.

The Ann Napolitano novel? I loved it. Really excellent and definitely as good as Dear Edward, if you've read that. *Misses point of thread entirely. Sorry OP!

Edited

Yes, it was excellent. Finished it last night. It was beautifully written with realistic (;flawed) characters you really came to root for. I have to pick up Dear Edward! Sorry OP but this is our exciting lives:)

LoveSandbanks · 07/12/2024 08:54

I’m not living a wild life but if I were I wouldn’t post it here because I think, with a bit of research, by the right person, most of us could be identified.
