Mouldy nursery

I have looked at a nursery it seemed ok, but I noticed black mould on the ceiling and thick black mould around the window frames I also noticed slug trails inside, near the doors and some of the toys have the slug trials on, the ones placed near the doors. Would this put you off?

Of course it would put me off!

That's grim.

BraveBlueDuck · 04/12/2024 17:59

Yes! 100%

I'd also probably be reporting it to Ofsted

The black mold was on the ceiling over the stairs, that leads to the baby and tots room. The slug trails were downstairs, on the mats inside the door way and they have some baskets of toys that had the slug trials on. The black mold is around the windows all around the nursery, the windows do look very old.

Absolutely it would put me off.

Black mould is a health hazard, and so are slugs on toys that kids will be potentially putting on their mouths. Slugs can pass on lungworms.

There’s other nurseries out there you don’t have to use this one and I really really wouldn’t

PrincessAnne4Eva · 04/12/2024 18:08

Yuck. I'd avoid this one and TBH I'd consider telling them why. That's disgusting for the poor mites that have to go there.

NinaNina83 · 04/12/2024 18:28

I'd choose another nursery!

It doesn't matter where the mould or slugs are, they shouldn't be there at all. Tell the nursery it's not acceptable and report it

SpeculativeHoumous · 04/12/2024 18:30

Why do you think it might be acceptable
