What does ‘get lots of girls’ mean?! 😳

anyway - football cards? Pokémon cards, Lego sets, football strips, football etc etc

DelicateSoundOfEchos · 03/12/2024 20:11

Do you not think its ever so slightly sad that you think complete strangers might know more about what your kids may like than you? Can you not like have some conversations with them and listen to their responses?

ghostyslovesheets · 03/12/2024 20:12

a football, lego, fidget toys and a book about treating girls with respect?

They're definitely old enough to help you out a bit. If the 12 year old is past the santa stage then perhaps you could have a bit of a chat about how he might not really want anything and could just get some small bits (chocolate, deodorant set etc). rather than spending on stuff he doesn't like.
For the 8 year old- give them the Smyths catalogue and a pen to circle what they like lol

Needmorelego · 03/12/2024 20:16

If they really don't want anything in particular then get stuff you would be getting anyway for them even if it wasn't Christmas.
New clothes and shoes.
Bubble bath/body sprays.
Replacement stationary for school.
Books.
Add in some Christmasy chocolates and you're done.

Edited

my 8 year old wants everything he sees even if he doesn’t like it if a ad comes on the tv he says I want it

I've ordered a box set from Mysteryboxd for my son - not sure if the BF20 code still works to get 20% off
https://mysteryboxd.com/products/kids-ultimate-mystery-football-box

He's asked for mystery shirts in the past for his birthday and loved them

Argos have offers on lego starwars for your younger one

We've got these before too. DS loved them.

I tell mine to make a top 3, they see lots of ads and they can make a list to show Santa all the things they like- but they have to have a top 3 to show the things that they really love. It doesn't mean they'll definitely get all 3, but at least it makes them organise their thoughts.

That is really smart doing that

As he's 12 the OP should start having conversations about the fuckwits who work for the BBC and why he should never ever act like that.

Margorett · 03/12/2024 20:38

What has girls having a crush on your 12yr old, relevant to his christmas presents? Does this make you proud, sounds a bit weird on your part to be telling us this? and how do you know?
