Nosy friend

I went for a walk with a friend today. As I pulled a tissue out of my coat pocket, a folded piece of paper fell out. My friend said "oh, you've dropped something" and picked it up. She then proceeded to open up the piece of paper. I asked her what she was doing and she said "I'm just seeing what it is". It was an old shopping list so nothing important but I was really shocked that she thought it was OK to open it. If it had been the other way round, I would have picked it up and handed it straight back to her, I would never dream of opening it. I just thought it was strange. What do you think?

YANBU, that’s very rude and nosy and I would’ve said something at the time.

It's a reflex reaction, I had someone do this to me, then quickly apologised. I would not say she was being nosy, it's a bit harsh on your friend to be honest.

She doesn't need to know what it is so no idea why she would be opening it up like that. Some people are inherently nosey though and cannot help themselves.
