Are these boots damaged?

Just received one of DP's main Christmas presents - a pair of suede boots from Schuh that weren't cheap! They've arrived with what appears to be scuff marks on them? Is this damage or is this how suede looks? I've compared it to the online photo and that also appears to show similar marks? So before I go back to the store and swap them, can I just ask if these look damaged to you?
(First 3 pics are the boots that arrived, last pic is the online one for comparison).

They look similar to me as the website ones.

Here's another online photo and they do appear to have marks all over them?! Is that just how they look?

Thanks @Mugler, I thought so too! Maybe that's just how they look then? 🤔

I think suede does mark really easily

@Twoshoesnewshoes thanks for you reply. Yes, maybe after some wear, but these are brand new! Should they be marked already?

They are clearly going for a distressed look. You either love it or hate it, I suppose.

I don't like suede for this reason. It looks tatty so quickly. You could try a suede rubber on it and don't forget it'll need a waterproof spray too or you end up with salt lines if they get wet. I prefer oiled leather or nubuck if I'm after that kind of look.
