have just done school pick-up. As I came out of the shop it started to rain, hard enough but not torrential, iyswim?

So I just got to the end of my road when my mum pulled up in her car and asked did we want a lift. I said no as we were literally two minutes away from home. she then said "well let me take ds home as he will be soaked." again I said really no need as it wasn't raining that hard, and really a little bit of water is not going to kill him. She huffed and sighed and drove off.

Now if it had been a lift home from the shops I would have probably taken it, but from the end of my street? why is it some people just cannot comprehend that others can live without the need to drive, or be driven everywhere?

As it happens, by the time we got home it had stopped raining - my hair wasn't even wet.

so ibu?

No, YANBU.

I don't drive and people are always saying that I should learn cos I need to.

Why do I need to? I can get everywhere I need to go.

It makes me

people who go everywhere by car can get a bit weird about stuff like rain and air and walking. makes me lmao. I'm a pedestrian and find if i don't stretch my legs i end up feeling very 'cooped up' and irritable. I wonder how motorists who go everywhere by car cope with this feeling. Or maybe they're lucky enough not to experience it.

Obviously YANBU turning down a lift to or from anywhere, you are free to decide that you would like to walk.

YABU being annoyed about it, she was only offering and trying to be nice.

Imagine if she had driven past you with a wave when it was raining? A lot of people would think she should have offered.

it would probably have took you longer getting every one in and out of the car than it would have just walking!!!
