To ask you to tell me what you think about the Dyson air wrap?

I have bra strap length hair ( although thinking about getting it cut to more shoulder length) and keeping looking Airwraps. Obviously they are expensive so want to not regret such a big purchase. Are they good and easy to use? What do you do with your hair that you couldn’t before?

100% worth it. My hair is a similar length to yours and it is so fast drying it now.

way2serious · 01/12/2024 21:06

@TheKeatingFive do you use it for anything other than drying?

I wanted to love it. I have below shoulder quite thick, straight hair. My friend used her one on me. It was used on freshly washed hair (which I don’t know if this was the right thing to do) but the bouncy blow dry curls looked great for 10 mins but had completely dropped out after half an hour. 😭

I don't have one but a colleague does. Her hair is naturally wild curly (which I love but she does not). When she's used the Dyson it's incredibly sleek and shiny. They definitely work, if you can afford it.

way2serious · 01/12/2024 21:16

Thanks. Yes worried about styling not holding. Usually my hair does hold if I use other products such as wands or straighteners so was hoping this would be the same.

Didn't love it, I sold it after a few months,
I found it made my hair look frizzy and didn't hold the curl. I did like the smoothing brush attachment but for the cost, it wasn't worth it.
I went on to buy the airstrait which I use all the time.

Not really. I don't do curls with it or anything - no real desire to.

iateallthechocolat3 · 01/12/2024 22:34

I also wanted to love it but didn't work for me. I think because I have frizzy hair.
Friends with straight smooth hair seem to have better results than me.

loropianalover · 01/12/2024 22:37

I sold mine. I really wanted to love it and tried lots of different things before passing it on.

I have a lot of hair but it’s fine and doesn’t hold volume easily at the root. Curling, blow drying etc took a long time because of the amount of hair but didn’t hold for long. Not for any longer than I could do with a regular hair dryer, GHD and some pins.

The Dyson air straight looks so sleek, I know I don’t need it but am tempted….

If you want it for drying, maybe get the Dyson hairdryer instead? I bought mine 5 years ago and it's still going strong, DD and I love it!

I have the hairdryer too (long story) and literally never use it because the wrap is so much quicker/easier 🤷‍♀️

I got one for my daughter to congratulate her for amazing GCSE results and she loves it. I have had a brief go of it, dried my hair with it, but I tend to straighten mine daily. We got the long barrel one as her hair goes down to her waist.

AhBiscuits · 02/12/2024 06:18

DH got me one for Christmas last year. So far I've only used the drying function, which is fab. I'm determined to actually use it before the Christmas party.

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 02/12/2024 06:22

I have a cheaper version off Amazon and I love it!

I only use it to curl and my hair looks bouncy and healthy.

autumn1610 · 02/12/2024 06:29

I’ve not but my friend borrowed someone’s to do her hair for a wedding and the photo she showed me it was gorgeous, by the time she drove to the wedding it was flat. She curls her hair a lot and I’ve never really seen it drop

LadyHester · 02/12/2024 06:32

Agree with others - great for drying and smoothing, disappointing hold.

Amba1998 · 02/12/2024 06:34

The hair dryer and the hot brush etc for bouncy blow drys are great, the wrap is crap

PinkTonic · 02/12/2024 06:40

I love mine and I don’t find the hold disappointing at all. If I curl mine with the wrap it is still wearable the following day, whereas if I use the straightener to curl it hardly holds for a couple of hours. My hair isn’t very long though.

jeaux90 · 02/12/2024 06:50

I love mine had it for four years and it's amazing if you have curly hair you like to keep straight. My DD15 and I both have really thick curly hair.

The curling barrels are great but we mainly use the straightening stiff head brush.

UpToonGirl · 02/12/2024 07:06

Had mine a few years and I couldn't recommend it. The curls don't last at all in my hair. I used the drying brush a bit, it's good and I don't feel it frys my hair but it doesn't make it super smooth. I do like the round brush for my fringey bits but obviously it's not worth the price tag for that.

Vax · 02/12/2024 07:24

It makes my hair really frizzy.

Hellyeahbaby · 02/12/2024 07:28

I love mine, I have just past shoulder length hair, very thick and frizzy.
I half dry, then straighten brush and then curl my ends.
Couldn't be without it

Leafyleaferson · 02/12/2024 07:47

I have the Shark version which also doesn't hold the curl. I was tempted by the Dyson version but after reading the comments here I'll stick with the Shark for blow drying and accept that the curls will never hold!
