Dental problem

Don't judge me but I haven't been to the dentist since before Covid, because my dentist retired and I haven't been able to find a new one. The last thing he did for me was pull out a tooth, a molar on my upper jaw, because it was damaged. The tooth came out completely, but some time afterward I noticed a hard bony bit protruding from my gum. I looked this up on the internet and read that it was probably a bit left over from the extraction and would naturally fall out. However, it is still in my gum now. It doesn't cause me any pain but I am curious about it and wonder what a dentist would say. My teeth and gums are generally in good condition and I have both upper wisdom teeth.

I had this after an extraction too but it did eventually make its own way out (with a little help from my tongue constantly poking at it over time).
The dentist might tweeze it out or leave it if it's not causing any problems I suppose. I think it will probably depend on how big the bone shard is and how likely it is to become a problem.

It's still there now? Is it a bit of tooth?

Honestly I would try and get a dentist if you can, prevention is much better than the cure in dentistry.
