Am I being unreasonable? Or was I too trusting?
Last month I offered some books ffp. Usual stampede for ffp stuff. I didn't know the exact postage so I told the lucky recipients that I would take them to the po, and then advise them of exact postage plus payment details.
One was about £1, the other about £1.10. I sent them, then emailed the people giving them THREE OPTIONS!!!! to pay - paypal showing funded amount they'd have to pay, my address if they wanted to send stamps, or my bank details so they could transfer the money with no charges.

Two of them have not coughed up. Yes it happened on mumnset so its mumsnetters I'm pissed off with. I can't name and shame as I have their email addresses but can't remember their mn nicknames.

I am sooooo disappointed in you ladies, who ever you are.

I know its only about 2 x £1 but it was MY £2 that you agreed to pay, and you've each got a best seller paperback for free. I've checked my paypal account in details, and also my online bank account to make sure and no, they haven't paid.

Won't do it again, I'd rather put them out with the old papers for recyling (well I'm tempted, but I'll take them to the charity shop instead).

Shame on you.

YANBU. I'm sorry that this happened to you, it's horrible when you become disillusioned with people.

misdee · 29/04/2008 14:55

YANBU

reminds me, i need to get a parcel weighed for soemthing i'm sending FFP.

HappyNewYearFeet06 · 29/04/2008 14:55

YANBU and maybe too trusting. I use MN quite a bit and another site alot and I think we become a bit too trusting sometimes.

Chase them up, even though its only £2 if you say that everytime it happens then it soon adds up.

You were being generous by offering them FFP.

Hecate · 29/04/2008 14:56

That's really awful. Are they regulars? How long have you waited - could it be that they are forgetful and it's one of those things they truly have been meaning to do asap. Have you emailed them to remind them?

But yes - if you are reading this - PAY THE WOMAN YOU BUGGERS!

kiskideesameanoldmother · 29/04/2008 14:58

my grandad always look at things like this as a good thing. he now knows one more scam and no one else will pull it on him in the future.

next time tell them to send you the stamps before you post it.

or send it without stamps then they will have a card from the post office to pick it up + extra royal mail charges.

tbh, i have never done MN FFP as i fear this sort of mixup that makes you feel as you are a tight-arse to get upset at their lack of payment.

Flibbertyjibbet · 29/04/2008 15:00

They were names I'd seen before. But I can't remember who they are.

Can't you search for your message?

Flibbertyjibbet · 29/04/2008 15:11

Ceebee have just been over to that thread

Oooo look everyone, Ceebee and I had a mumnset meet up without even realising it!

Thats cheered me up no end, sod those tight arses who STOLE my postage money, life is too short to worry about them while there are nice people living round the corner from me.

Wow I can't believe it, the only two mumsnetters in this town and we bump into each other not like we are in London where they fall over each other in Waitrose all the time...

Was it a biograpy that you sent?

Flibbertyjibbet · 29/04/2008 15:16

I did send out a biog at the same time but the recipient did a book swap with me so thats not one of the ones I'm moaning about!

Anyway I have let off my steam now and learned to be untrusting and cynical and along the way found out that I met a real mumnsetter.

karma y'see

Can't search for my threads as i put the books in for sale but ffp, and threads there get deleted 30 days after you place the ad.
Oh well, we live and learn.

I thought ffp was part of for sale. do you have to have cat to post stuff on there?

Flibbertyjibbet · 29/04/2008 15:27

I don't know - I paid for CAT when I joined mn so was already covered.
