Marionette Lines Getting me down

Hi

I have good skin overall but have quite bad nasal/marionette lines, it’s really getting me down. My husband doesn’t understand and I know he still finds me attractive but all I can focus on is these lines, especially the marionette ones. I am 52 and can’t have injections because I have a really bad phobia of needles. I have read that face yoga can help?
I feel bad that I am allowing this to take over my life especially as I have a wonderful family and beautiful grandchildren and yet everyday I focus on these lines and as a result am miserable

Please give me some words or wisdom or advise.

Not being unpleasant- just realistic!

Well, I am sorry to disappoint you. I looked in my magnifying mirror after reading up on them and even in a magnifying mirror I do not have nasolabial folds or marionette lines. I do face yoga and face massage now and then, and I have good bone structure and good skin genes on both sides of the family.

Misc. descriptions by derms told me these particular lines are a something that some people develop with age - I see no sign of them.

Then you are exceptionally lucky, and very unusual!

OP I get your reticence with filler but this is a tiny amount to.pump out the lines. It's not like lips, jawline or chin fillers on your lower face that add extra volume.

My friends all have wrinkles round their eyes and thin lips but no marionette lines. I have absolutely no lines round my eyes and still fairly full.lips but marionettes. Nothing will reverse these except filler. It's a facial/genetic type of thing. Just like some people are busty/pear shaped/slim/ voluptuous.

Have a consultation so you can ask all the questions you want.

Thank you to everyone who replied.
I am interested in the Nuface or Foreo Bear recommendations however a quick YouTube search I found the Doctorly video which states they dont work.
Can I ask for peoples experiences of these or red ligh masks?

Hi OP, I’ve been using the FOREO bear mini for a few weeks. Was sceptical to be honest but have found it’s made a visible difference to my lips and lifted my eyes/eyelids and improved the overall symmetry of my face. I’m not sure it’s done anything for my marionnette lines (yet?) but I’m so pleased with the other changes that those lines don’t seem to bother me quite so much (and they were getting me down quite a bit like you).

This sounds like body dysmorphia. You’d be better off spending money on addressing why you’re fixating on this than lining the pockets of cosmetics companies who conduct zero clinical trials to back up their claims.

This is not helpful.

In fact, it is the only solution which is actually helpful.

If creams and serums worked, the facial aesthetics industry wouldn't be such a big business. No one would be paying hundreds for Botox and fillers if they could buy a £25 cream instead.

There's no harm in booking a consultation for filler, just to see where you stand. I also have a needle phobia but have had filler, and it was nowhere near as painful/traumatic as I thought.

For what it's worth though, I've never looked at a beautiful woman and thought 'gosh she'd be better if she didn't have lines/wrinkles'. It's just natural, and this is a case of you being your own worst critic
