I feel so sad when I'm ill

I've been ill for 5 days now. Feeling really rough. Whenever this happens I also get really sad and down. I think partly probably because I live alone so I then go days without seeing anyone.

It can also be part of the illness. I feel low when I get a virus. All body resources are going towards fighting the illness and that uses up energy.

So it is normal to feel down.

You probably feel isolated as you are on your own. Practice self care and don't feel bad for taking time to recover. Perhaps contact a friend online?

This stranger sends you all best wishes for recovery. I'm recovering from COVID.

Can you have some FaceTimes with a friend ? It's awful feeling rough when you're on your own Flowers

I totally understand and can relate to what you’re going through. I could run through all the medical reasons for why this is absolutely the norm for feeling this way when you’re ill. However that’s not helpful when you feel down in the dumps.
Im the same, I do try and ‘bounce’ myself up though (sometimes I can’t be bothered, I think we need to be kinder to ourselves).
A lovely warm bath, your favourite music, and sleep afterwards does seem to help. I also take Vitamin D B12 and C I do believe they help.
I also wrap up like Eskimo Nell, and sit in the garden with a hot drink, it breaks that cabin fever feeling.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, and hope you get that spring in your step soon.
