Hotpoint delivery at 6:55am

It’s pitch black out, I’m convinced my neighbours are going to hate me as my my Hotpoint cooker is arriving at 6:55am. I didn’t choose this time when ordering. They’ll be a great big loud noisy truck. The shame

Lots of people are up, but definitely not dressed, at 7am!

Even if you weren't normally wouldn't you get dressed if you had a delivery, I didn't get why you'd be wearing your pyjamas

The previous comment was referring to normally being ddressed at that time.

notacooldad · 29/11/2024 07:57

I would still be asleep then but it's not a big deal.
People get things delivered, move house, defrost their cars etc early in the morning, that's life!

Catza · 29/11/2024 07:59

Our bin collection comes before 7 every Tuesday and it is far noisier than a delivery van. Nobody in my house is asleep at 6.55. I am sure it's fine.

romatheroamer · 29/11/2024 07:59

This is absolutely nothing compared with neighbours' building work, drills and saws, which can go on for months.

LakieLady · 29/11/2024 07:59

JudgeJ · 29/11/2024 06:55

Our bins are emptied at around that time then lots of early risers take them in and empty bins can be very noisy!

Same here. It's twice a week every other week, as the recycling bins are emptied on a different day from the rubbish.

And there are a fair few people on my road who leave for work before 7, so lots including one who leaves at 5.45 or thereabouts and has a very noisy diesel 4x4. And he works 6 days pw!

Something that is noisy on the odd occasion is fine @eRobin So don't worry about it. We had a neighbour the other week yelling and screaming around the garden - and the street - at 7.00am, because her 4 y.o. daughter had disappeared out of the house! (She went to get her up at for nursery, and she was not there)

We didn't mind obviously, and got up to help her look for her. Little devil was at a neighbour's house 5 doors away, peering through the windows to see if the little girls she sometimes plays with wanted to come out to play. It was virtually pitch black! I mean, streetlights were on so you could see where you were going, but still! Neighbour had actually left the front door unlocked and that's how the little girl got out!

BigBundleOfFluff · 29/11/2024 08:02

Are you my neighbour?!? Their hotpoint something was unloaded at 7.15 this morning?? Rest assured I only noticed as that was the time I happened to open my curtains at.

It’s Friday

All the better, they can have a lie in tomorrow in the unlikely event you wake them early today.

JoshLymanSwagger · 29/11/2024 08:11

My AO delivery was similarly timed.

Best thing ever is 1st of the lorry. Grin

Op Friday is a weekday.
I wouldn't be upset if I was your neighbour, these thing happen

It’s Friday

Is Friday not a week day - wherever you are based? I wouldn’t care either way, if it were me - I wouldn’t want next door going about in dirty pants/eating off filthy dishes.

RuledbytheWashingMachine · 29/11/2024 08:20

Early deliveries are great! It'll be good to have it over and done with.

However you are being unreasonable getting a Hotpoint. Worse company about. Remember it was their fridge that started Grenfell and the faulty condenser dryers that caused fires.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 29/11/2024 06:24

Hell I would love a delivery at that time. No waiting around from 8 - 8 sounds great to me.

Me too - gets the delivery over and done with and no waiting in until the middle of the afternoon for an item that you paid £35 to be delivered between 7-11am (I’m looking at you AO !!)

borntobequiet · 29/11/2024 08:32

I’d be pleased if it arrived on time, as I leave for work soon after 07:00.

jajhgyt · 29/11/2024 08:34

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 29/11/2024 06:21

Keep the house in darkness until they chap the door then neighbours will assume you had no idea it was coming at this time!

Do people really think like this?

You think OPs neighbours will be at their windows, curtains open at 7am checking when the rest of the street put their lights on?

Honestly OP I wouldn't even notice a delivery

Boredforlife · 29/11/2024 08:35

I’d love that! Get your delivery out the way early, wallop

Allfur · 29/11/2024 08:37

Thats unfortunate but a one off. It's the ones that choose really early supermarket delivey slots that get my goat.

WhimsicalGubbins76 · 29/11/2024 08:39

I’d be thrilled if I had a delivery coming at 6:55! It’s a one off, the neighbours won’t die 🤣
I normally get time slots like “between 8am and 5pm” and they almost always come in that couple of minutes that I’m unable to get to the door, like if I’m on the loo 🤣

Ginmonkeyagain · 29/11/2024 08:42

We get the bins collected twice a week at 6am, full banging, shouting and loud reversing alarm. So 6.55am delivery would be minor in comparison.

MumonabikeE5 · 29/11/2024 08:44

I actually think this is a stealth boast. How many people would be properly happy to get a big delivery without waiting in all day.

bobbythejobby · 29/11/2024 08:45

We had a double bed delivered a few years ago where the delivery time was given as between 5.30am and 6.30am. I actually phoned the company to make sure it wasn't an error - it wasn't. It arrived at 6am.

Hope you got your cooker OP without too much noise.

AO let’s go

I also seem to be early on the AO round for my area - had a couple of deliveries this year both between 7-7.30. Another one due next week, hoping for the same slot.

Much better than hanging around all day just to be in the loo at delivery time!

Hiddle1976 · 29/11/2024 08:48

I'm usually awake a 5am every day leave for work at 6am. I love drinking my coffee listening to the sounds outside change as everyone starts getting on with their day.
