Mildenhall

I live next to the USAF base in Mildenhall and I'm getting really nervous with all the activity! Flight radar isn't showing the planes like they usually do and I've never heard/seen so many before.

I know its probably just due to the drones flying around the base for the last week, but that isn't really helping with the nerves!

Anyone else live near a military base and feeling the same? All night its just jets and other aircraft coming over and sometimes going at a speed that makes me think well, this is it. At least we're close enough to go quickly. 🤣😬

USAF Lakenheath issued a release saying the increased jet activity is due to the drones.

Rationally, I know it's because of the drones. I've lived here nearly 10 years so I'm definitely used to the planes and their exercises/night flying etc. They're just so loud and constant lately. Maybe its just that it's loud enough to be keeping me up through the night and I just need some sleep!

We’re nearby and also noticed an increase in activity recently, but as @Dazzylazzy said I think it’s mostly due to the drones.

I said something about it last weekend to my parents, and my dad said it had been really heavy over them (they are about 10 miles nearer than me).
Anyway, he mentioned the drones news release.
