Hi. On day 4 of a bug, feeling the worst I’ve ever felt. Can’t eat or drink anything, nothing stays inside me. Anyone else got this? Doc said it’s a virus.

Sympathies, it's horrid. Family had this last week.

I don't suppose you have any cyclizine or buccastem anti-sickness tablets.

Only when you haven't vomited for an hour or two - begin to sip tiny amounts of a glass of water with a teaspoon of salt & sugar dissolved in it. Don't overdo it. Put warm water bottle on belly to soothe.

But most importantly, call 111 if worried.

Thank you. Saw a doctor today. He said
was a virus. Should feel better in a few days. Worst feeling ever. Stomach is raw. I’ll try that mix. How many days did it last.

It settled on day 4, but their tummies were irritated, take it easy x

Norovirus. We all had it and from the baby catching it first, to my husband getting it last, it lasted about 2 weeks.

Nasty, but it does pass!

OldTinHat · 27/11/2024 22:43

Urgh, you have my sympathies.

I had it a couple of weeks ago. Lasted four and a half days before I could keep down more than a teaspoon of flat coke. And I was SO thirsty!

no sickness or diarrhoea today but can’t eat anything, just can’t get it down. But a lot better than yesterday.

dry toast/marmite
rich tea biscuits, crackers, etc

Have you got dioralyte rehydration sachets in the house? If not see if you can order some or get a friend to pick you some up. It doesn't taste great but you will be glad you used them!

This. I've had this for 3 weeks now and the Diorylite really helps

Make sure you’re drinking plenty.

If it continues, go to an and e. You need to check you’re not getting dehydrated. Dh was on potassium and sodium (?) drips after after diarrhoea for 3 or 4 days. His potassium levels were almost at a dangerous level.
