A book series for an almost 12 year old who really enjoyed the whole Percy Jackson series? Not LOTR or Harry Potter as he's already declared he has no interest in reading them after watching the films.

The Weirdstone of Brisengamen by Alan Garner
Earthsea by Ursula le Guin

My DS enjoyed Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials at that age.

He loved Patrick Ness's Chaos Walking Trilogy, but I think he was a year or two older when he read that.

Jenny Nimmo's Charlie Bone series is pretty good, and so is John Connolly's Samuel Johnson trilogy.

You know Rick O'Riodan has written several other series?

The Descendants. There's 5 books I think and films too. My son and his friends all loved Percy Jackson and now they are all reading these
