I can't be the only one...

...who watches my posts like a hawk as soon as I post them, waiting for replies? I'm totally not doing that right now...

I don't, because I don't really expect people to reply - I rarely start threads, and don't think my comments are either insightful or witty enough to inspire a reply (though I can be quite dogged about posting corrections if I spot someone writing in error on a subject I really do know about)

What I do miss, since a site upgrade a while ago, are the threads that would appear every now and again in chat with a title like "231 unanswered messages - lets answer them", which was like a community call to try to make sure no-one was completely overlooked

Now they only show the 100 most recent, so there isn't the direct appeal of a larger than usual number.

But when someone tried to revive the old traditions, it attracted a barrage of criticisms "why respond to old threads?" "I can't find 'unanswered'" "who cares?" "not every thread deserves a reply" "stop telling me how to post" etc

But if anyone is ever interested in answering threads that are currently languishing, they can be found here
