Help me with this penicillin dose!

I took DD to A&E last night with a chesty cough/sickness and general unwell. She’d been in the night before with a wheeze and sucking in under the ribs. Shes 5.

They’ve prescribed penicillin. 2 x a day for 5 days
I can’t remember what the nurse said hence me asking for help and I do have a tendency to overthink!

She had a dose at the hospital around 00:35 this morning
Then I gave a second dose when she woke up

Is that it for the day or will she need another one tonight?

Give Another dose tonight

I’d give her one at bedtime tonight to even things out. A dose a few hours early isn’t going to make a big difference.

I would give another dose tonight before bed.

So one tonight
then one tomorrow morning and tomorrow night?

If it says twice aday then yes give at bedtime.

Yes morning and evening, so give it tonight at bedtime, its absolutely fine that she had it last night.

What time did she have her second dose, with the timing does it say anything about taking it before, with or after any food.

So in my overthinking unmathematical brain I thought that counted as today!

She had a dose at 00:35
Then another at 10am
It says before food but she’s barely eating anyway her throat and ear are hurting

The first dose was midnight not the last 🤦🏿‍♀️ I’m shattered

Poor girl,,is she able to drink or have something soft.

Yes she’s drinking and eating but mostly snacky foods. She’s fine in herself just her ear and throat hurts!
It convieniently feels better when the penicillin bribe M&Ms come out though 🤔

Could she manage something like ice cream or jelly and custard? I hope she starts to improve very soon.

She’s had a piece of toast, a nutri grain bar and a fruit snack so she is eating just not as much as usual bless her

However whilst it’s not much she couldn’t keep any food down yesterday so an improvement definitely

Sorry again. What do I do on Friday which is the 5 days? Would he just have one dose?

Just give them until the course is finished and box is empty
