It's quite hard to explain but I was talking to someone recently who seemed to know what I meant. Since Covid it's like everything has changed for the worse. It's like we haven't recovered. There's an air of misery and sadness that lingers over the nation.

Wondering what's the point in it all? This fake and fragile society we live in.

I live in the SE but it's a deprived area. I was driving through town this morning to take my DS to school, a journey that should be no more than 8 minutes that actually takes about 30 minutes every morning. Traffic lights, built up traffic, people stopping in ridiculous places that holds up the traffic.

The town is a mess, graffiti and boarded up shops everywhere.

There's the fragile world stage, Russia, Israel, etc. The COL crisis. Terrible state of NHS and education. Housing, etc.

Then we're paying 100s of pounds to go to these crappy and overpriced Christmas activities pretending to have fun and like the world isn't falling to peices around us.

Why the fuck do we get up every day and go to work and school and be miserable and then come home, debate whether it's worth putting the heating on, watch some shit on the TV, eat another samey dinner and do the same shit again the next day and the next. What's the point? Then we pretend we're all happy about it because we might go to the odd Christmas Activity (that's the same as last year and the year before and the year before, etc. And also massively over priced and other crowded) Or if we're lucky get a weeks holiday in the sun once a year.

Do anyone else understand what I mean? I'm not sure I've explained properly.
