I know a couple of people who turn off their WhatsApp when they go to sleep and I don't see the point because I never do that because when I go to sleep I switch off my phone so if anybody sends me a WhatsApp while I'm asleep I don't know because my phone is off

Genuinely thought this was going to be the Budweiser advert.

Literally came here to say exactly this. Very disappointed it’s not.

@Flute56 I am one of those people

I don't have a landline and have to be reachable at night by phone

so I don't want messages waking me up.

thanks for reminding me of the ad though!

TyneTeas · 22/11/2024 00:12

What are the pros and cons of each way OP.

Make a list and compare and contrast.

If there is not a material difference then no worries

MarvelJesus · 22/11/2024 00:14

Time for bed now, OP.

Ursulla · 22/11/2024 00:20

Reachable by whom? You can filter contacts so only specify certain people who can get through.

CitiesInDust · 22/11/2024 07:07

Makes sense to switch WhatsApp off if you have a child at a sleepover/elderly parents or some other reason to not want your phone on do not disturb.

my elderly mother has an emergency button. If they call me, it can be from any number. So I have to have my phone on for any number to call.
