I have many health problems and a few undiagnosed ones.
The weidest one is 3 or 4 times a year when i open my bowels i pass out it's not due to constipation it just randomly happens and has done for around 6/7 years, i never know when it's going to happen as their are no warning signs.
Anyway 2 weeks ago it happened as i got into my car and this is the first time it's happened without going to the toilet, it might be that is different but it felt the same, anyway i called my husband and he came to me and as he helped me out of the car into the passenger seat i passed out again and fell into the road,
Since then i have been in bed generally feeling awful and very dizzy, last night i was sick and it looked like diarrhoea, I'm probably leaving loads of information out but i just feel so weak, anyway i have been trying to get to speak to a gp but all appointments have gone by the time i get through (our surgery is a small Village one that hasn't got bigger even though thousands of new houses have been built over the past 30 years) they are asking me to call 111 and i know due to my other medical conditions they will send me into hospital wasting nhs time and money when i just need some medicine or direction on what i can do to help myself.
Só do i waste their time and mine or just ride it out as i have been trying to do?

Sounds to me like you need urgent medical assistance - call 111. That's what they're there for.
Hope you get some help and feel better.

Motnight · 21/11/2024 10:43

Riding it out doesn't seem to be working very well for you, Op...

purplecorkheart · 21/11/2024 10:44

Did the sick look a bit like coffee grinds. If so that is something that requires urgent treatment. It is a sign of internal bleeding which could explain the fainting and feeling weak.

Lifeglowup · 21/11/2024 10:45

Definitley call 111!

museumum · 21/11/2024 10:45

If you threw up fecal matter you absolutely 100% need to be in hospital. You have a potentially life-threatening blockage. GO... don't even call 111.

RissiOne · 21/11/2024 10:45

I'd imagine any medic would like to see your for unexplained fainting, go to the hospital/call 111.

lawlessland · 21/11/2024 10:46

You've been advised to call 111 and you need to be seen so call. Trying to save resources is likely to backfire in the long run anyway if you go undiagnosed/untreated for something.

MaryGreenhill · 21/11/2024 10:46

I agree with the
Others phone 111 immediately

The full name of "NHS" is NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE. It's very clear what it is here for. For when you need help with health.
Which it sound like you very much do and this should be very quick hospital admission.

EdgeofSeventy · 21/11/2024 10:53

I hope you're on the phone to 111 @Wokeuptired ?
It's there for a reason
Hope you're fighting fit soon 💐

YouLookinSusBro · 21/11/2024 10:59

Did the sick also smell like diarrhoea? If your vomit looked and smelt like faeces go straight to a&e as 111 will send you anyway. You definitely need help, sounds like it potentially could be serious and things need to be ruled out

QuestionableMouse · 21/11/2024 11:01

Stop messing around and go to A&E. 111 will send you there anyway.

HateThese4Leggedbeasts · 21/11/2024 11:04

I didn't want to be a bother to the NHS when I had a dreadful abdominal pain but felt otherwise well. I then had a ruptured appendix and severe infection and ended up in hospital for days.

My a&e consultant told me off for not coming in earlier.

Ring 111.

I work in ED and this is one of the few times on this site that I think someone should get to ED now.
If your vomit is resembling faecal matter that is a medical emergency. At the very minimum you need some bloods checked and an ECG.
Go now

CheekySwan · 21/11/2024 11:08

I hope you have rang 111 and you are being seen as you speak - something is going on and it sounds serious

Please let us know you got help

gamerchick · 21/11/2024 11:12

Dude go to hospital. No fucking about.

vix3rd · 21/11/2024 11:26

Why, when you passed out in the street, did your husband not phone an ambulance ?
Dear god get to the hospital.

Msmoonpie · 21/11/2024 11:58

You absolutely need to go to A and E - you must know this isn’t normal.

You need to be seen urgently.

Atishooo · 21/11/2024 13:02

I wonder if your passing out is some sort of vasovagal reaction. It can be very random.

However if you’re vomiting what you think may be faecal matter you need to be seen.

Womblingmerrily · 21/11/2024 13:05

Really doesn't sound like a 'ride it out' kind of thing.

Sound more like a 'go to ED' sort of thing - but 111 will advised when you call them.

romdowa · 21/11/2024 13:07

I wouldn't bother with 111. Get to accident and emergency , you need to be seen

BobbyBiscuits · 21/11/2024 13:08

You could have a volvulus which is life threatening. Throwing up fecal smelling matter is an emergency. Call 999. It could be an obstructed/twisted bowel. Don't leave it any longer!

Whichoneisthebest · 23/11/2024 21:55

@Wokeuptired any update? Are you ok?
