Because they both like different stuff and my son is older it’s very hard to find somewhere to go out together because my son will want it do one thing and my daughter will want to do another we live in Cambridgeshire / Bedfordshire area I am from Peterborough plus most places have closed down now so it’s hard to find something they will both do I have looked at a lot of posts like this and none had something my son and daughter would both do

What does “most places have closed down” mean? What were the “places” before @Emilyfjffj ?

What do they like doing? Are they outdoorsy? How far are they willing to travel?

without this info, it’s tough to say right?

Most places have closed down? Has everything shut north of London these days?

Not sure about specifics to your area. My GCs have a similar age gap and both have enjoyed trampoline parks, swimming, roller skating and indoor climbing walls.

museums. Tend to have a small person find the whatever trail and the older child can actually look at the stuff.

Why not ask on local FB groups for suggestions? Most people on MN won't have any idea what's available in your area!

My 4 year old and 13 year old both like bowling

Bournetilly · 18/11/2024 18:24

I dont live near you so I don’t know exact places but places like go ape, theme parks, water parks, bowling, mini golf, arcades, trampoline park, clip n climb, inflata nation, cinema (possibly if something they will both watch).

It depends what they are into (and some of them the height of your 4 year old) but my 4 year old likes all of these and I think an 11 year old would.

thereisamouseinthehouse · 18/11/2024 18:25

The zoo
Pottery painting (although it sounds as though your DS would possibly tolerate it and your DD might be a bit young)
Clip n climb or similar sort of place

You might be better off just dividing and conquering as I think that they're at stages where they will have few common interests. Give them a few more years, and they'll enjoy the same sorts of things

Woods - take bikes if necessary, climb trees, whatever

Beach - walk, dig, pier

Swimming pool - one with slides etc - your oldest is old enough to not need supervision (ours is over 8s unaccompanied)

Let them be bored?

climbing

bowling

trampoline park - ours is 4+ I believe outside of toddler sessions
