Blue badge holders can...otherwise it's a wrongun not playing by the rules

BlueBalana3975 · 16/11/2024 19:50

Most people I see doing it @Kaleidoscopic101 dont have a blue badge displayed

Because they are chancers. And their convenience is more important than everyone else inconvenience.

Honestly I don't think blue badges should be able to park on double yellows! It causes absolute havoc near us - it's genuinely so dangerous.

I also don't understand why it's allowed...if its a yellow line for non BB holders why does it suddenly become one for those with BB's.

If there's no real reason as in its not dangerous to park then councils/highway should mark the bays as parking for disabled.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 16/11/2024 22:14

I would never do this.

TTPDTS · 16/11/2024 22:23

@Trumptonagain

This is my line of thinking! It doesn't suddenly become a safe place to park because someone has a blue badge. If it amazingly is safe enough to park in, then it could be designated disabled parking.

Locally they park on bends, double park on double yellows, block the crests of hills etc. I understand there's probably limiting factors to mobility etc that are the reasons behind the blue badges, but it genuinely makes it so hard / dangerous to drive. It actually caused an accident the other week!

roastiepotato · 16/11/2024 22:24

Blue badge holders are only supposed to park on double yellows if it is safe to do so.

NewName24 · 16/11/2024 22:26

Personally, I don't park on double yellow lines, but I am not sure why you find it difficult to think of a reason why someone might.

This.

There's a road near us where people constanly stop on double yellows and the police are always going past and do zilch. It's ridiculous.

I live on very busy but small high street and just one person doing it causes chaos.

Icepinkeskimo · 16/11/2024 22:32

Are you the double yellow lines police?
If someone parks there they are running the risk of a fine, that’s on them.
So if after 14 hours of emergency shift work and it’s 2am in the morning and I am gasping for a sugar loaded, icy cold Dr Pepper, you can bet I’m parking outside the 24 hour newsagents, yellow lines or not.
As for the suggestion of points, it seems an over reaction.
