Amaretto hot choc from Nero. Shit, as always with these hot chocolates it was actually luke warm

ns87 · 15/11/2024 14:29

They are usually far too sweet for me, and I used to think I had a sweet tooth 😄

InThePinkScarf · 15/11/2024 14:40

I hate lukewarm hot chocolate. It has to be really hot for me to enjoy it.

Starbucks eggnog as is my tradition!

Toomanysquishmallows · 15/11/2024 14:58

I had a nutcracker latte from Costa , it was way to sweet for me .

Game0fCrones · 15/11/2024 15:00

Nutcracker Latte but They're all too sweet for me and Costa is bitter as well.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 15/11/2024 15:06

Not technically flagged as a Christmas menu item, but Starbucks white hot chocolate with added peppermint syrup is 10/10! I've tried the rest from big brands and nothing comes close.

I really wouldn't bother buying it then. I've given up with cafe hot chocolate as it's always luke warm even if you ask for extra hot.

It ruins the experience where you imagine yourself sipping it slowly and you have to gulp it down and even then it's nowhere near hot enough.

Probably best sticking to coffee or buying one to make at home where you can make it actually hot.

Beezknees · 15/11/2024 15:12

Yes, I always buy the Costa ones. I have a sweet tooth and don't like very strong coffee so it's perfect. I love the gingerbread range.

RecycleMePlease · 15/11/2024 15:16

I've stopped even trying them after too many disappointments.

I think it was the gingerbread coffee that sent me over the edge last year.

KenAdams · 15/11/2024 15:17

I asked how much syrup was in a large PSL and they said SEVEN. So if you find them too sweet ask for half the amount of syrup.

Cowboycorgi · 15/11/2024 15:29

I added Gingerbread syrup to my order today it was delicious. Large caffe misto with gingerbread & nutmeg 👌

SherbetSweeties · 15/11/2024 15:35

I used to love the Christmas drinks but at almost 5 pounds a pop i just can't justify that expense anymore.

Costa do a lovely Gingerbread latte.

Funkyslippers · 15/11/2024 15:39

I've so far had the Greggs Gingerbread Latte & Costa Black Forest Frappe & Festive Spice Latte All good. I must have an eggnog one from Starbucks though as I loved it last year

I get to have coffees from cafes as part of my job so I'll be working my way through the menus

If you get an extra hot hot chocolate in a takeaway cup it retains the heat better

Mustreadabook · 15/11/2024 15:49

I used to like gingerbread latte but I tried it recently and it is now far too sweet. I suspect sweetener in it too which makes it even worse. Even iced coffee I have to make sure they don't put a syrup in or I can’t drink it.

Isseywith2witchycats · 15/11/2024 16:08

Not coffees as i dont buy coffees outside but got the dead mans fingers tequila strawberry cocktail from aldis, impulse buy its lush like a strawberry milkshake with a kick

DrFoxtrot · 15/11/2024 16:31

My favourite was the millionaires latte from McDonald's but they stopped doing it a few years ago 😭

That's insane! Thanks for the good intel. I'll ask them from now on and reduce it down to about 10% of the amount because I really don't like overly sweet drinks.
