Used to have the best boss but he has unfortunately left. Have been reporting into someone else for about a year now and I find myself being increasingly miserable, especially after our 1:1s.
There isn’t anything obviously nasty about him but I just find him unpleasant at times, always complaining and seems dissatisfied with the team (not me specifically, at least not that I am aware), sometimes seems disengaged, sometimes he is a bit patronising and I find myself having to be defensive with him in a lot of situations. He is generally a bit of a draining presence for me and is affecting my ability to enjoy work.
The market in my industry is absolutely terrible otherwise I would have left already.
I am the main breadwinner and cannot afford to leave and risk to get a job that isn’t secure in current climat.
Just want to know if most people like their bosses and how do you deal with that
