Where do you hang them?

Where do you hang your children's school photos?? We have 4 photos so far and more to come with younger children. Do you hang them on the walls? And where?

I want to put some in the hallway but my husband said they shouldn't be out really and to put them into a folder they can look back on one day. I think it's a shame to hide them away.

He's compromised to hanging one out at a time then when it's replaced by a new school year photo, taking it down and adding it into an album. I'd rather have them all on display. Who is wrong?

YABU better off being away or one at a time
YANBU I have all ours displayed (Any tips on where?)

No one is wrong or right. I've never hung a school photo up once! It's all just personal preference. Who does it hurt to have them all up, if that's what you want? Why "shouldn't" they be out?

BleekHaus · 14/11/2024 14:03

Don’t hang them - just keep them in a box with the other family photos. We only have two photos up in the house, one from our wedding, and one of me, DH, and DD, taken at a function.

Think mine were shoved in a drawer. Tbh I wouldn't be putting pics of my kids on the wall, just don't understand why I would need go

DD class photos were in her bedroom and now in a box, her individual photos are in a slightly weird 'DD' shrine above my desk.

You get those frames where you can store up to 25 pictures I think. It looks neat and tidy too.

I have one on these and it's one of my favourite things! Unlimited pics from a phone app, my kids have the app too so they can send photos to it, it's really easy to use.

I don't even order them 🤣 I just keep the little sample ones that they send you in a box in the loft. You probably think I'm a terrible mam 🤣🤣

I love this idea for my desk thank you.

We have physical school photos though that I want to put up without it looking weird. I was going to put them altogether in the hall but then I thought dotted around might be better. But neither feels right. I don't want it to look like a weird shrine to our 'favourite' child or something (we don't have favourites but it might look that way) Might have to rethink.

@Ihaveneedofwaternear I'm even worse, I don't even keep the samples. The photos are so expensive and they're always an awkward cross eyed picture of a kid who hates having their photo taken 🤷‍♀️

sprigatito · 14/11/2024 15:05

There isn't a consensus, I don't think, some people like to have them out and visible, others not. The issue I think is that your husband feels entitled to override your preference with his own. If I wanted pictures of my children up, my DH wouldn't tell me they should be put away.

ShamblesRock · 14/11/2024 15:09

I have the latest one in a frame. The others are stored in a photo album.

Kept one of each and they are in the photo album for the appropriate year..
