5g mobilmast

My daughter has just started at a daycare that we are happy with. Unfortunately, a mobile tower has been erected 8 meters/1 minutes walk from the daycare. I have read that there are divided opinions about the safety. My concern is that it is so close, and the children spend 7-8 hours a day at the daycare. Would you change daycare?

No. People have been making outlandish claims about mobile phone masts since they first appeared. And the 5g claims particularly ramped up. Yet the forecast cancer clusters have failed to appear.

If you live in a city there are multiple phone sites, they are just better hidden now, so people are close to them without realising it.

We have a two 5g masts on our office roof. Nobody has quit because of it. Nobody even complained.

I have become unsure after reading this, as we don't know the long-term consequences.

The ehtrust is NOT an independent scientific trust, despite what the name says. They are completely against mobile phones and publish books such as "Disconnect—the truth about cellphone radiation, what industry has done to hide it and how to protect your family". Does that sound like a bias-free publication? A quick Google of "ehtrust credibility" will bring up a lot of criticism of their research. As I previously said, people have been campaigning against mobile phone masts since the 1990s. Shouldn't there be millions of linkable cancer cases by now if they were truly dangerous?

Mozartine · 14/11/2024 20:07

OP you seem to be totally irrational.

Hoardasurass · 14/11/2024 20:13

@Lila00 are you really going to believe the 5g cause covid, asd, cancer, birth defect, dementia etc conspiracy nuts or are yougoingto use your critical thinking (assuming that you have any)?

Is that because you are an idiot, or do you have some scientific evidence to back up your theory?

When you say 'divided opinions', it's not an equal divide. It's conspiracy theories/'opinions' vs factual scientific evidence.

There many things in our modern lives that can pose health risks, but this isn't one to be concerned about.

FFS! You clearly didn't even read the site you put forward as your support.

Researchers who believe that humans can suffer from cancer and tumors when exposed to EMF radiation get their data from studies of people living near power stations. But they fail to give proper justifications, like the relation between EMF field stength and the possible risk associated with it or the mechanisms that can trigger processes like cancer and the creation of tumors.

The website you put forward as justification for not living near a substation (and after you said nobody would ever study this, which was demonstrably false) says that there is no evidence for claims that they are a health risk, or even how they could be a health risk!

Do you have a microwave? If so, you are being ridiculous.

sunbum · 14/11/2024 21:27

Does the nursery have a radio?

Lila00 · 15/11/2024 07:13

WHO The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified radiofrequency electromagnetic fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans (Group 2B).

My DB is somewhat of an expert on mobile signal transmission technology. He isn't bothered, so neither am I.

Toast is carcinogenic. Do you eat toast?

MiddleagedBeachbum · 15/11/2024 07:20

Nah I wouldn’t want that either, 5G is totally different to other radio waves. I’ve seen enough to not want to be near it, always wear EMF necklace protection and have EMF protection on my phone and in my house.

CasperGutman · 15/11/2024 07:27

I wouldn't be worried about the mobile mast.

sunbum · 15/11/2024 07:28

How/why isnit 'totally different'? Its just a frequency range arbitrarily chosen on the EM spectrum in the radio wave frequency area?

Ginmonkeyagain · 15/11/2024 07:29

How is 5G "totally different" to other radio waves?

Tukmgru · 15/11/2024 07:30

If you wrote this using a mobile phone, and can’t see the irony, then you may be beyond help.

You swallowed the Kool Aid with that stuff.

Why does this thread remind me of the episode of 'Gavin & Stacey' where Pam tries to get all her neighbours together to protest about a phone mast being erected...but then gets mad because she can't get a phone signal to text them..
