AIBU to be disappointed by Anna Maxwell's accent.

I think she is a fantastic actress BUT her accent is so hit and miss. It really lets her down.

I, too, thought the accent was not right for a Canadian, but when we watched the doc with Delia, it was clear Anna had listened to her and reproduced the accent quite well

I assumed it was intentional because she's a bit of a complex personality and makes a big deal about her complicated life and having moved countries a lot.

I agree with @Iloveanicegarden I just watched the documentary this evening. Delia has an unusual accent which is hard to identify and I think AMM nailed it

Haven't watched it, but my daughter was watching today and said the accent was perfect. The character is not just Canadian - she lived for years in both Australia and the UK. DD said she could hear all 3.

If you listen to the interview with Delia I think you'll find she's actually done it really well.

Oh really?! Hahaha. I thought she was trying to be Irish and constantly slipped into her own. She 80% of the time sounds like herself (to me!) and 20% Irish.

I'll listen for Canadian, Australian and anything else!

I watched the documentary with the real Delia, she had an international accent. Anna Maxwell nailed it in my opinion.
