Why did I agree

My friend asked me to be an extra pair of hands at her daughters arcade birthday. I don't have kids. I felt like I couldn't say no even though it's the last thing I wanted to do with my Sunday morning tbh. I also did want to help her. Now I'm here thinking why on earth did I agree to this 😂I feel so out of place!

It sounds like a nice thing to do. It's easy to lose touch when one of you has dc and one doesn't. As long as it doesn't become a one sided relationship and she also cares and does things for you I think it's fine to help her.

Just change your mind.

Its an experience OP and not all of those are enjoyable, but at least now you know and won't do it again! (You also know what an arcade party is! I don't. Amusement arcade? Shopping arcade? Something else...?)

Just change your mind.

On the day? You think it’s ok to let down someone with moments to go before a child’s birthday party because you don’t feel like it?

Glad I’m not relying on you as my friend! OP should’ve said no at the time, or at least shortly afterwards, rather than dropping her friend in it at the last moment. It’s only a couple of hours presumably, OP should just get on with it.

Fireworknight · 10/11/2024 13:27

What have you been asked to do? What are you afraid of? How old are the kids? and how many? G

Ginkypig · 10/11/2024 13:30

We all sometimes do things for friends we probably wouldn’t have had it not been for the fact a friend asked!

cue me hurting my shoulder helping a friend wallpaper her living room HORIZONTALLY!

Birminghamx · 10/11/2024 13:33

It's only a couple of hours presumably and it's for a friend. You may need/want your friend's help at some point. I'd say just go with it.

What the fresh hell is an arcade party?

is it finished now??

if that was the worst thing I'd been asked to do as a favour I'd be happy.
