How is this going to help women and children in Iraq?
In the USA, between 2010 - 2015, 6 girls aged 12 were married. Obviously that is 6 too many. And if you look at 14 - 16 year olds, that number goes up to 985, which is shocking. But I don't see how helping these particular children does anything for children in Iraq, in a completely different legal and cultural context where the problem is way more pervasive and religiously supported. Why do we have to move the discussion to the USA - just so we can say how bad the West is?
Think about what you're doing, if every time someone raises the evils perpetrated against women and children in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Egypt etc etc you say, but what about the USA? Makes it seem like you think only Western children matter. Why can't we care about people in other places?
