To take my DC with me into Anne Summers?

Serious question, regular poster with a name change as well.. it's a bit embarrassing, isn't it?

I want to buy a nice waspie, needed by tomorrow as we've got, erm, plans. It has to be a waspie as I'm trying to cover up my stretch marks and wobbly bits 😐

It's too late to order online. The only place I can think of on the high street for something like this is Anne Summers. (If you know of anywhere else please do reccomend)

The problem is I've got no way of offloading my DC (7 and 5) in order to go alone.

I'm considering just taking them with me, being as quick as possible and keeping them away from the adult only area, but is that unreasonable?

Would you judge somebody for going in with children?

It's a bit of both tbh. I'm probably worrying over nothing I just don't feel completely comfortable with how I look and its been a long time since I've even entertained the idea of being intimate again.

I feel like such an idiot I wish I hadn't posted 😔

Oh OP, you shouldn't be getting naked with someone if you feel they will judge your body.
I don't blame you for wanting a boost but you can do it with ordinary nice undies not something so restrictive and if the person you are hoping to/thinking of shagging doesn't like it then its their issue not yours.
I am sorry you got a hard time (although it was a daft idea) and hope you do get some action pretty soon

Sit them just inside the door with a bag of sweets and be quick. No big deal!

Jesus Christ! Ignore this, op.

Personally, I think YABU and the voting seems to agree. But it's fascinating how different the consensus is from a thread the other day about whether it's OK that Tesco now sells vibrators, where 95% thought it was fine and anyone who disagreed was made to feel like Mary Whitehouse. Not very different scenarios to my mind.

I think because people on AIBU just like having a pop at an OP 😂

In the real world plenty of people take their children into Anne Summers, after all it's allowed. If it was so terrible they wouldn't let children in.

There's a moral aspect I guess but some of these posts are absolutely batshit.

I think if you specifically took your DC into Tesco with you to get a vibrator it would be similar
Anyway, OP had a thought but has now realised it was a bad idea and has had the grace to admit she was wrong so people should lay off now

It's no reflection on him he's perfectly lovely I'm just a bit self conscious. I struggled to come to terms with how different my body is after having DC (totally butchered!) and I've avoided sex for so long. Its all a bit daunting getting back in the saddle and I figured I'd enjoy myself much more if I wasn't worrying about the mum tum 😬

But OP is not taking her children to get a vibrator. She is buying some underwear. I don't think it is materially different.

Noseybookworm · 08/11/2024 22:47

OP please don't feel self conscious! In my experience, men just like naked ladies and they don't give a toss about wobbly bits, stretch marks or mum tums! He obviously is keen on you and I bet he has some body insecurities as well! Have a couple of drinks 🍷🍷 and enjoy yourself! 💐

I would probably have said a non issue if it hadn't been for the fact my mother took me and my younger my brother to AS when we were about the same age. Visiting there at young age has stuck in my memory. Whilst nothing bad happened,I think it is inappropriate. I remember me and brother used to sing a song that we made up "mummy goes to ann summers where there are lots of bummers".

mrsDracoMalfoy · 09/11/2024 08:36

I hope you have a wonderful time. You go get you some girl Grin get on that saddle and ride til Dawn 😂😂

CrowleyKitten · 09/11/2024 18:39

from what I remember, the properly rude stuff is in the 18+ section.
the rest is underwear and fancy dress. pretty harmless really. older children might get a kick out of laughing at the penis straws/pasta /hen do type stuff while you grab what you're after.

it DOES however remind me of an incident in town once that was so funny and accidentally inappropriate. on the high street, there was a balloon modelling artist. there was a small child in their pushchair with a black balloon sword. and they were sucking on the end of it.
what made it all the funnier was that the parent was chatting to another mum, and they were outside Anne Summers. it just made it so accidentally, hilariously inappropriate.

She's not buying knickers she wants some racy underwear.

a waspie is really not very racy. it's shapewear.
