Getting one up on me always

I work with a woman who just loves to compete. Everything has to be a competition as much as I don’t mind sometimes it exhausts me.

I was asked to be on our company promo stuff that goes out and have some photos taken. I kept it quiet because I know what she’s like. I was called out of a meeting and asked if I was happy to do it. Someone asked me where I went so I said it.

the second I said it her response was “yeah they asked me earlier. Emma said how well put together my outfits always are but because I’m busy I can’t do it” I just sighed. I don’t care about looks but she ALWAYS makes everything about looks.

I talked about it over dinner with a friend and I don’t know why but it really aggravated me again.

It wouldn't bother me. I find it amusing. She is either insecure or trying to join in with whatever is going on. There will always be people like this in life. Their highs are higher, their lows are lower. Someone once described it as someone who goes to Elevenerife.

As in, you go to Tenerife on holiday and they go to Elevenerife. Always makes me laugh now when someone does this and I think ooh, off they go to Elevenerife again!
