To think he might be making a mug of me?

A male colleague started messaging me at work (we’re both single) and then we exchanged numbers and have talked non stop for about a week.

Today we’ve both been in the office for the first time and he hasn’t at any point come over to say hello. And I’ve now just left the office and he’s messaged asking if I had a good day??

Am I being made a mug of? Also yes I know it’s just a week but I’ve been single for ages and I’ve liked him for quite a while.

Do you think he’s shy? Or wondering why you didn’t approach him? Or trying to avoid colleagues finding out you’re talking? It could be anything really!

He probably wants to keep your relationship a secret at work.

I’d imagine that’s because he doesn’t want anyone to know that you’re getting friendly.

That could be because he sees you as a casual bunk up. Or it could be completely reasonable and sensible because you work in the same place and if things don’t work out, it could all go horribly wrong. Only time will tell.

Why didn't you approach him? Why does he need to be the one to do it?

Noseybookworm · 07/11/2024 17:37

I wouldn't immediately jump to that conclusion - he might just want to be discrete at work? Or maybe just had a really busy day? I would message him back as you normally would and next time you're in the office go over and say hi! If he acts wierd with you, then tell him that you find it odd that he's messaging you but blanking you in the office! Don't guess at his motivations, ask him 🤷‍♀️

If you didn't get up and walk over to him you're being a hypocrit.
