I jotted down some notes for my husband and he said I write like a doctor 😂

Aibu to say he is wrong and my handwriting is fine. (Also, anyone want to show theirs?)

YANBU - he's wrong.
YABU - he's not right.

No that was not a mistake.

I still can't work out the word after "deformation". I can guess activation from context, but I haven't been able to match it letter by letter to what you have written. I'm still with your DH.

It says
Visual inspection of bed for wear, deformation, corrosion and damage.
Check lifting actuators both ends.

"One quille brain Leo jienpi alel the euiy dey"

Obviously this is a well known phrase and is easy to work out, but if it was random sentences from your brain it might take a while to decipher!

Yay, I win , I win!

Edit to add: Not the easiest to read, but far from hard.

Lougle · 07/11/2024 11:42

Sorry, it's 'nice' handwriting - I like the flow, but it's pretty illegible, or at least very hard to read.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 07/11/2024 11:44

I mean it's pretty bad. I have never seen lazy and dog connected like that, it looks like easy dey.

My handwriting is awful by the way. I'm not allowed to write shopping lists anymore if H is going shopping. I write in cursive and am partial to a fountain pen.

I got it, but (and you're not going to like this) I've got ridiculous handwriting that I've spent my whole life getting shit for lol. 'it's pretty but I can't read it' -but I can't change it!

My kids, DH & family can all read it fine but if I'm writing for anyone else I have to REALLY concentrate on making it legible & find it difficult. It's mostly uppercase but lower case slips in sometimes for reasons unknown. And if it's LC random UC appear - not wholly sure how much control I have over it, it just happens...

But!! Your hubby should be able to see what it says!!

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 07/11/2024 11:33

Well OK. If you promise. 😀

I couldn’t read “corrosion” and “actuators” - obv saw your typed version after. It’s ok handwriting but very curly, loopy and rounded. I might have been able to guess if i knew what you were writing about.

Bbq1 · 07/11/2024 11:49

Visual inspection of bed for wear, deformation, - - - - - and damage. Check lifting activators both ends.

So, just one word I can't read, although I did have to really concentrate when deciphering it. Generally legible.

Pixiedust1234 · 07/11/2024 11:51

I did vote that it was legible but after reading your second note I couldn't read it all. I couldn't read (or guess) corrosion or the word after lifting.

Ultimately, even if you could eventually read it all, it's down to how easily and quickly it can be read too.

CoffeeCakeAndALattePlease · 07/11/2024 11:52

It’s not completely illegible but it isn’t easy to read.

Justcallmebebes · 07/11/2024 11:54

shellyleppard · 07/11/2024 11:29

I can read it easily..... probably cos that was the warm up exercise in typing lessons in the 80's!!! 😉

This. You'd be better off showing us some random writing and not a common set piece

HomeTheatreSystem · 07/11/2024 11:54

No, not perfectly legible by a long stretch.

Sorry, cross posts. Your husband has a point

BatshitCrazyWoman · 07/11/2024 11:55

I think it's perfectly legible. However, I am known at work for the person who can read most handwriting (it's part of the job)! I don't know what that says about me 😂

blackpear · 07/11/2024 11:58

Agree with your DH - sorry. I could only read 'jumps' because I know what the sentence should be.

SkylarH · 07/11/2024 11:59

Ooh it's bad
First couple of words are legible, then I just knew the saying

LoquaciousPineapple · 07/11/2024 11:59

The second is again readable from context, but if you took each word individually or jumbled them up, I wouldn't be certain. Inspection looks more like inspector. The last letter of "wear" isn't clear. And Deformation looks like Defomnatia. Corrosion and actuators are illegible to me.

Even with the context, I'm having to really focus to read it. I'd be really annoyed if I had to deal with someone's handwriting like this on a regular basis. Ultimately readable but wasting a lot of my time to do so.

potatocakesinprogress · 07/11/2024 11:59

If you remember to close your legs, why are you forgetting to close your g's?

blackpear · 07/11/2024 11:59

In second note I can't read 'corrosion' or 'actuators'.

stayathomer · 07/11/2024 12:00

Sorry I don’t think I can read the full sentence 🙈

SkylarH · 07/11/2024 12:00

Quick, brown and dog look more like quill, brain and day :/

I also have bad hand writing, so I just write in non cursive all caps when I can't type

PinkArt · 07/11/2024 12:01

Because my handwriting is terrible (someone once thought I was writing in shorthand. I wasn't) one of my superpowers at work is deciphering other bad handwriting on paperwork. I got most of yours but struggled and some words only made sense because of the rest of the sentence. So I agree with him but fuck it, we can't all be good at everything!

actuators was the only word I couldn't quite get, and if I was in the business I expect I would have.

It's not worse than my Grandfathers who's was very difficult to decipher.

It’s hardly a question of “being good at” handwriting, is it? She’s not 6 years old.
But unless op is writing in her diary for her eyes only, it’s communication for someone else and, particularly in a work setting, needs to be legible.

Balloonhearts · 07/11/2024 12:05

I can't read that and my handwriting is godawful.
