To want to vent about my neighbour and noise

Since I moved in 3 years ago, I've had barking and howling from next doors dogs. Once the dogs are started, they literally don't stop for breath. Working from home has been a nightmare and my mental health plummeted.

After a few polite knocking on their door and me asking them to keep the dogs quieter and a few polite notes through the door, I went to the council. This has been ongoing and each time the council has a word, everything goes quiet apart from the odd barks or howls. Just dogs being dogs and that's fine. It always starts back up again. Neighbour gets complacent and obviously starts to not give a fuck again. Neighbour is usually home bit upstairs when the dogs start. They're both very stressed when not with their owner.

Council have now offered to install sound equipment to monitor but as they've had another word it's gone quiet, except for the past few mornings. Shes shut them up faorly quickly each time though. This morning, however, my one lie in, one dog starts barking continuously from 6am. She didn't shut it up. Eventually at 7.15am I reluctantly get out of bed, sad I couldn't get my lie in and knocked a few times on the party wall thinking get the fuck out of bed and sort your dogs. Still nothing. I was pissed off and ended up going downstairs and banged louder on the wall and shouting a few choice words. I'm so tired of this. I know that if the council install sound recording equipment it will be pointless now as she keeps them mostly quiet. How the fuck can she sleep through the barking?

I have the same problem, except the owners are often out all day. Banging on the window with the fat part of my palm shakes the place and is more effective than knocking on the wall, provided they're at home.

It's so frustrating isn't it @J1Dub? Why get a dog when you're out all day or not prepared to meet its emotional needs?

It's ridiculous.
