Some of my closest friends are teachers - they get regularly abused and assaulted in the course of their work. And they work silly hours always catching up at evenings and weekends. I listen to their whinges and stories every week and keep asking - what do your unions do? Apparantly the working conditions are not key issues for the unions.
But they are payed relatively well and now seem to be striking over pay. Does this mean the NUT union's priorities are purely pay related?
